Inspiration and Process
Getting geeky about geology was the inspiration for this collection, looking at coastlines, fault lines and river beds on maps as well as different types of rock intruding into each other. I wanted to created contrast and balance between the hard, shiny silver and matt intensity of the marble.
Each piece starts as a freehand drawing creating the curved channel afresh every time. This forms the pattern that I cut and assemble by hand in my studio from silver sheet. The river of colour is created by casting hand dyed marble jesmonite into the piece and sanding it back to reveal the pattern.
Details
Each sterling silver earring measures 7mm x 13mm and has a sterling silver post and scroll back. Individual earrings are designed to be one offs, pairs complement each other rather than match. The pair currently in stock is the one pictured.
These earrings are made from recycled sterling silver, the earring posts and scroll are also made from recycled silver in the UK. Jesmonite is an eco-friendly resin (non-toxic and VOC free) that’s mixed with natural minerals to create a marble stone effect.
Packaging and Care
Everything from Promises Promises comes hand-wrapped in bespoke packaging, perfect for giving (especially to yourself!). Each piece is wrapped in my own design tissue paper inside a branded box. A storage pouch for safekeeping and a care pack with polish pad will keep your piece looking like new.
To keep your sterling silver piece in perfect condition, store it in the box or pouch when it’s not being worn and polish from time to time with the polish pad. The jesmonite section is sealed to make it easier to clean, give it a light scrub with a soft toothbrush in warm water and washing up liquid.

About Me
I set up Promises Promises in 2014 as a brand for the jewellery I was creating while working in London in the fashion industry. Since then I’ve been a jeweller full-time, creating innovative eco-friendly jewellery from precious metals and jesmonite, collaborating with Laphroaig, the Science Museum and the British Library and selling in shops across the world. In 2020 I moved back West, gaining new inspiration from the landscape around me. Now I create small collections of hand-made jewellery, based on the things I love and crafted in my Bristol home studio.
