This unusual statement ring inlays tones of sea green marble jesmonite into brass, with a silver ring shank. Riod is a really special piece that’s taken me years to perfect, putting it on always creates an impact. Limited edition of 1, size M.
Details
The tones of sea green marble jesmonite are inlayed into the metal, sanded flat and sealed, finally the metal pattern is polished.
Part of the Change of State collection, inspired by the way a city and it’s coastline shifted over a period of 50 years.
The ring motif measures 15mm and the band is 1.2mm thick. The sizing runs as follows: Small – size L (xmm), Medium – size O (xmm), Large – size R (xmm).
Each piece comes beautifully presented in a gift box, with a storage pouch and care pack with polish pad.
As with all my jewellery, this piece is hand made in my Somerset studio.
Materials and Care
Jesmonite marble stone composite is an eco-friendly alternative to concrete or resin, it’s made from a fine stone aggregate of natural minerals and a solvent and VOC free resin.
Jesmonite is designed for use in architecture so is very durable and water resistant and can be cleaned with a soft toothbrush and soapy water.
The Brass and Silver I use are recycled.
Brass and Silver need to be cared for in the same way, store in your anti-tarnish pouch, and polish with your polish pad to keep them shiny.
Ring Sizing
If you don’t know your UK ring size, there are a couple of easy ways to check. Measure the inside diameter of one of your existing rings with a ruler (measure from the inside edge to inside edge, not the thickness of the metal) Small = 16.3mm, Medium = 17.5mm, Large = 18.7mm.
If you don’t have a ring the right size you can use a piece of string to measure around your finger, mark where the string crosses and measure. This will be the circumference of the ring, Small = 51.2mm, Medium = 55.1mm, Large = 58.9mm.
