Inspiration and Process
Getting geeky about geology was the inspiration for this piece, looking at coastlines, fault lines and river beds on maps as well as different types of rock intruding into each other. I wanted to created contrast and balance between the hard, shiny silver and matt intensity of the marble.
The process for each piece starts with a drawing that is applied to the silver and cut out by hand. I construct the silver elements in my studio and fill with marble jesmonite which is mixed and coloured for each piece. Once the jesmonite is sanded back, it reveals the pattern of silver wire dots, marble dots and intricate metal curves.
Details
The round silver pendant measures 20mm in diameter and is hung from a 24” silver chain. It features round silver dots in the ocean blue marble jesmonite and ocean marble dots added into the silver sections. Each pendant has a unique design made up from a combination of similar elements, details. The current piece in stock is the one pictured.
I use recycled sterling silver for this piece, the chain is also made from recycled silver and is made in the uk. Jesmonite is an eco-friendly resin (non-toxic and VOC free) that’s mixed with natural minerals to create a marble stone effect.
Packaging and Care
Everything from Promises Promises comes hand-wrapped in bespoke packaging, perfect for giving (especially to yourself!). Each piece is wrapped in my own design tissue paper inside a branded box. A storage pouch for safekeeping and a care pack with polish pad will keep your piece looking like new.
To keep your sterling silver piece in perfect condition, store it in the box or pouch when it’s not being worn and polish from time to time with the polish pad. The jesmonite section is sealed to make it easier to clean, give it a light scrub with a soft toothbrush in warm water and washing up liquid.

I set up Promises Promises in 2014 as a brand for the jewellery I was creating while working in London in the fashion industry. Since then I’ve been a jeweller full-time, creating innovative eco-friendly jewellery from precious metals and jesmonite, collaborating with Laphroaig, the Science Museum and the British Library and selling in shops across the world. In 2020 I moved back West, gaining new inspiration from the landscape around me. Now I create small collections of hand-made jewellery, based on the things I love and crafted in my Bristol home studio.
