Craft Central workshops for Craft Week

Craft Week is coming up and Craft Central are putting on a series of workshops with the talented makers in their London studios. It’s not until 4th-10th of October but you’ll need to book now as places are limited. I love the look of this Nakshi Kantha embroidery workshop with Rafin Jannat, an award winning fashion and textile designer with a passion for preserving traditional craft practices.

Photomicrography

This is an entry from Nikon’s 2021 Photomicrography competition, it’s a piece of slime mould! It looks like an ethereal, glowing tree, it’s amazing how these everyday things transform when seen up close. See the other incredible entrants here.

How craft can empower

I loved this article about how craft can empower the vulnerable, with the author’s very personal story of doing embroidery with her mother who had dementia. I’m a big believer in the power of craft to support and nurture your mental health so this really struck me. Read the article here.

From The Studio

This week is all about finally finished the new collection! Here’s a very small sneak peek at some of the things I’ve been working on! I can’t wait to bring it to you in full in a few weeks time. The photoshoot is mid next week so I’m hoping to launch in early October. Just a little reminder as well that I’ll be down at Canopy Market this week, from the 23rd - 26th of September and the amazing Green Rooms Market will also be there so if plants are your thing, don’t miss it.
