Unique asymmetric studs measuring 20 x 14 mm with sterling silver findings. These earrings are made of stainless steel and jesmonite, the stone is cast around the metal pieces giving the effect that it is revealed from rock. The jesmonite stone is white marble shot through with charcoal and rust.
Jesmonite is a composite stone a little like concrete but is designed to look like natural stone, I developed a marble casting technique for this collection. It has a matt finish, feels like natural stone, and has a slightly sparkly finish, like you would find in granite.
Stainless steel is very hard wearing and doesn’t tarnish. It can be cleaned with a soft cloth and a metal polish such as Brasso.
Zea is part of the Muscle Memory collection inspired by the idea of delicacy vs strength, how do these two ideas co-exist? The human body, so seemingly frail, and the structures we construct to protect it. Muscle Memory launched in September 2018, takes strong organic shapes from flesh and sinew and runs them through with delicate traceries of metal based on the now decaying castles we once built to protect them.
