This graphic statement piece is made of layers of jesmonite, stainless steel and silver, geometric shapes meld into organic lines as the layers rise and fall around the piece. The motif measures 73mm x 47mm and the sterling silver chain is 18” long. The back of the motif is stainless steel and the inset pieces are silver.
Jesmonite is a composite stone a little like concrete but is designed to look like natural stone, this one is designed to look like marble and is hand dyed and cast in shades of grey, then sanded back to reveal a subtle sparkly effect. It has a matt finish and feels like natural stone.
Stainless steel is very hard wearing and doesn’t tarnish. It can be cleaned with a soft cloth and a metal polish such as Brasso. Sterling Silver will need to be cleaned from time to time with a silver polish and is best stored in a bag or box.
Symmoca is part of the State of Change collection, looking at points of transition especially in relation to the way natural world interacts with the man made.
